23rd December 2009: Beowulf and the Dragon now available
Walking Tree Publishers are proud to announce that Beowulf and the Dragon is now available.
The book features the Old English text of the "Dragon Episode" from Beowulf, presented side by side with the John Porter's Modern English translation. The foreword is by Tom Shippey and the episode is richly illustrated by Anke Eissmann. The 84 page book is bound in hardback and will appeal to collectors, linguists and Tolkienists alike.

December 2009: Tolkien Seminar 2010 in Jena
Walking Tree Publishers are pleased to announce that they will be co-operating with the German Tolkien Society (Deutsche Tolkien Gesellschaft) in their 2010 Tolkien Seminar, "Tolkien and Romanticism".
The conference will take place from 23rd to 25th April 2010 at the Friedrich-Schiller-Universität, Jena (Germany).

Among those planning to attend the conference is the celebrated Tolkien expert, Dr. Patrick Curry. His papers include several that were published by Walking Tree Publishers: "Enchantment in Tolkien and Middle-earth", "Iron Crown, Iron Cage" and "Tolkien and his Critics: A Critique".

December 2009: Interview with Heidi Steimel on Music in Middle-earth
The website tolkien-buecher.de has published an interview with Heidi Steimel on the forthcoming book Music in Middle-earth, of which she is co-editor and which will shortly be published by Walking Tree Publishers.
The interview is available in English and in German.
The illustration above, Daeron and Lúthien, is by Anke Eißmann and will feature on the cover of Music in Middle-earth.

November 2009: Anke Eißmann speaks about Beowulf
An interview with Anke Eißmann has been published on the tolkien-buecher.de website. In the interview, Anke speaks about her Tolkien illustrations, her artwork in general, and her upcoming book Beowulf and the Dragon, which is being published by Walking Tree Publishers. November 2009: Beowulf. Old English Text and Translation of the 'Dragon Episode'
Walking Tree Publishers are pleased to announce the forthcoming publication of a luxury edition of the 'Dragon Episode' from Beowulf. The Old English text and translation will be presented side by side, with illustrations by Anke Eissmann (who has worked with the Walking Tree Publishers on numerous occasions in the past). Some of the Beowulf artwork can be previewed on Anke's home page (anke.edoras-art.de/anke_beowulf.html).
The introduction will be written by Tom Shippey.

Tolkien's View: Windows into his World contains a number of selected essays by Professor J.S. Ryan, for their most part originally published over three decades from the 1960s to the 1990s, on the theme of J.R.R. Tolkien and his works. To help readers make up their minds before buying, Walking Tree Publishers are permitting website visitors to download sample pages from their books. The first book in this scheme is Martin Simonson's monography, The Lord of the Rings and the Western Narrative Tradition.
